Sweet Blackeyed Susan is a 3' to 5' tall native perennial that gets its common name from its sweet anise fragrance and its appearance similar to Blackeyed Susan. It features up to 3" wide bright yellow daisy-like flowers with dark centers. Sweet Blackeyed Susan prefers moist soils in full sun or part shade and occurs mostly on moist prairies, along streams, and in other low areas. It is easily established from seed, is a good garden plant for moist soil areas and is a good cut flower plant. It is often used in pollinator conservation plantings.
