White Wingstem is a 3' to 6' tall native perennial that is better known for the exotic and fanciful ice ribbons that form at the base of the plant at the first killing frost in the fall. This plant grows best at woodland edges, field borders, and stream banks and needs medium to wet soils, preferably in partial shade. White Wingstem has large flat-topped clusters of showy white flowers. The spreading growth habit of this plant makes it better suited for native plant gardens, wildflower meadows, and conservation plantings. White Wingstem provides cover and food for wildlife.
