Illinois Bundleflower is 2' to 4' tall native perennial legume with somewhat inconspicuous white flowers, 1" wide bundles of twisted bean-like seed pods, and fern-like leaves that fold when touched. This plant prefers more moist sites but will tolerate dry sites and some shade. It grows best in medium textured soils but is much less tolerant of heavy clays. It is perhaps best used in native plant gardens wildflower meadows, and wildlife habitat plantings. The young foliage is relished by deer and the plant provides excellent brood rearing cover for ground nesting birds. The seeds are a favorite of turkey, quail, and small mammals. Illinois Bundleflower is one our most important wildlife habitat species.

Prices listed are based on pure live seed weight, not bulk weight. You are only paying for viable seed.
