Rice Cut Grass is a wetland plant most commonly found near ponds, swamps, ditches, beaver ponds, or other habitats where the soil is saturated most of the year. It tolerates full sun or partial shade. It spreads by creeping rhizomes and can form dense colonies. Rice Cut Grass is valuable for wildlife food and cover, wetland restoration, erosion control, and treatment of soil contaminants.
