Scarlet Flax is a 1' to 2' tall introduced annual that is arguably one of our showiest and most beautiful small annual garden plants. It features brilliant red 5-petaled flowers with dark edges and a satin-like surface. The flowers only last a day but are never missed due to the prolific replacements produced. This plant prefers dry to moist well drained soils and grows best in full sun sites. It is a great border plant and a long time garden favorite.
