Bear's Foot is a 3' to 5' tall native perennial with a native distribution over most of the eastern US except for a few northern states. Bear's Foot features very large, sometimes 1' long, deeply lobed leaves with flowering branches growing from the leaf axils. The numerous bright yellow flowers are about 2" wide . This plant prefers moist soils and grows best in partial shade. Use of Bear's Foot as a garden or landscape plant requires lots of space. Moist soils, and light shade. With its numerous flowers and long flowering period, Bear's Foot is a great pollinator conservation plant.
