Yellow Wild Indigo is a spring flowering, 2' to 3' tall, native perennial that performs best in dry to medium well drained soils. The plant does best in full sun but tolerates partial shade. This beautiful drought tolerant prairie plant features bright yellow pea-like flowers in terminal racemes above the foliage. The black seed pods have ornamental value in the garden. Yellow Wild Indigo attracts butterflies and other native pollinators. As the name indicates, the plant was used by Native Americans and early settlers to make dyes.

Seed from this collection is made possible in cooperation with the Cherokee National Forest.

Prices listed are based on pure live seed weight, not bulk weight. You are only paying for viable seed.
