New England Aster is a large 3' to 6' tall, much branched, native perennial that flowers into November if not frost killed. It has a profusion of large bright purple flowers; however, pink variants are available. New England Aster grows well in part shade as well as full sun and prefers moist sites but will tolerate drier uplands. It is found growing wild in moist old fields, prairies, woodland edges, and along streams. This tall garden staple is easily established from seed. The height of this plant and the thick heavily branched crown make New England Aster an excellent cover plant for quail. It attracts bees and multiple other pollinators and deer browse this plant extensively.

Prices listed are based on pure live seed weight, not bulk weight. You are only paying for viable seed.
