Mistflower is a 1' to 2' tall native perennial most often found growing in wet meadows, moist open woods, ditches, and wet prairies indicating its preference for moist soils and full sun exposure; however, the plant will tolerate medium soils and part shade. This plant features dense flat topped clusters of fuzzy appearing tiny bright blue flowers. Mistflower flowers from mid-summer until frost and gardeners find it a good plant for native plant gardens, borders, wildflower meadows, and moist soil ground cover. Mistflower attracts butterflies and is a good pollinator conservation species.
