New York Ironweed is a 5' to 8' tall native perennial with a native distribution primarily in the gulf and Atlantic coastal states, and actually is known from only a few southern counties in New York. It features multiple terminal clusters of showy 3" to 4" wide clusters of small deep purple composite flowers. This plant prefers medium to wet soils in full sun. It is usually found in moist meadows, lowland thickets, and low areas along streambanks. In the garden it is used for borders, native plant gardens, wildflower meadows, and conservation seed mixes. It is a mecca for insects, and is a must for butterfly and pollinator gardens.

Prices listed are based on pure live seed weight, not bulk weight. You are only paying for viable seed.
