Rufus Bulrush is a 3' to 4' tall native perennial member of the sedge family, and not a rush as the common name might indicate. It features gracefully drooping compound umbels of seed heads. This plant is usually considered a wetland species; however, it will tolerate drier conditions than many other scirpus species. It is an early summer flowering plant and prefers full sun sites. Habitats include wet meadows, ditches, pond and stream edges, swamps, sedge meadows and other wet areas. Rufus Bulrush is an important food and cover plant for waterfowl and other wildlife. The seed is often included in wetland restoration and conservation mixes.

Prices listed are based on pure live seed weight, not bulk weight. You are only paying for viable seed.
